Feed The Future Now is a nation-wide campaign that is aimed at ensuring that every child in India gets a nutritious mid-day meal once in a day. An initiative by The Akshaya Patra Foundation, it is looking for volunteers to take up opportunities to serve wholesome meals to children in schools. The core belief behind the campaign is that when we feed the children with nutritious meals, we are ensuring that our future generation is healthy enough to lead our country towards positive progress. This can only happen when people from all walks of life come together and donate for children. The volunteers can participate in activities which are regularly conducted at various Government and semi-Government schools and the kitchens. The year 2009 marked a major turning point in the history of education in India when the Right To Education Act, popularly known as the RTE, was enacted. This Act mandated free and compulsory education for children between six and 14 in India. This means that education is the fundamental right of every child in India.
